Erebus Motorsport will have an extra incentive when they tackle Mount Panorama this week, with Shaw and Partners Financial Services philanthropic arm throwing down financial support to the team’s official charity partner.

Established in 2015, the Shaw and Partners Foundation was created with the goal to instil and perpetuate real change in Australian society and as a result sees them pledging up to $100,000 to Feel the Magic.

Shaw and Partners Co-Chief Executive Officer Earl Evans, who was instrumental in the foundation’s development, is looking forward to seeing Erebus take on the challenge.

“At Shaw and Partners we are great believers in putting back into the community and we are always looking for opportunities to do so whilst having some fun,” Evans said.

“This is great motivation for the Erebus team, who are already striving for that Top Ten Shootout.

“We are so pleased to partner with both Erebus and Feel the Magic this weekend and look forward to, hopefully, proudly donating to Feel the Magic, who undertake such vital work in our society.”

The Shaw and Partners Foundation will donate $25,000 for each Erebus Commodore that makes the Top Ten Shootout, with an additional $25,000 per car that crosses the line inside the top ten on Sunday.

The team’s official charity partner since 2018, Feel the Magic is an Australian non-profit who provide early intervention grief education programs for children aged 7 to 17 who have experienced the loss of a parent, guardian or sibling.

Developed by clinical psychologists, their free camps aim to help kids manage their grief through teaching practical coping strategies to grieve in a healthy and positive way; ultimately helping reduce the mental health challenges associated with childhood grief.

Feel the Magic CEO Adam Blatch is extremely grateful for the foundation’s generosity.

“We feel very privileged to be a charity partner with Erebus Motorsport and are so grateful for the support they provide to Feel the Magic and the grieving kids we serve,” Blatch said.

“What the Shaw and Partners Foundation provides to charities is remarkable and we are very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the relationship between Erebus and Shaw and Partners at this year’s Bathurst 1000.”

Since the foundation’s inception, Shaw and Partners has donated over $6 million to over 130 charities.

“With the form that Erebus has at the moment, the Bathurst 1000 is set to be a fantastic stage to finish off a tremendous year for them and it is truly amazing to be part of it,” Blatch added.

The Bathurst 1000 will conclude the 2021 Supercars season, with on-track action from Thursday.
