Mark Geyer is joining us this Golf Day

Mark Geyer is a Rugby League Legend and current radio personality on the afternoon show ‘The Rush Hour’ with Triple M. MG will be joining us for the upcoming ‘3rd Annual Feel the Magic Charity Golf Day. He will be having a shot at the Feel the Magic cup as well as being one of our special guest speakers on the day. MG knows the pain and suffering that grief presents but knows all too well the destruction it can cause when it’s suppressed and not addressed. We’re very much looking forward to hearing his inspiring story of resilience and recovery. On top of this, MG will be kindly donating a replica 1991 premiership winning jersey that he will personally sign to auction off on the day with the winner having their picture taken with the man himself. A fantastic piece of memorabilia for any Rugby League fan. It’s an honour to have Mark Geyer join our special guest speakers, Wests Tigers Josh Aloiai and Camp Magic young gun James Drover. If you would like to register a team to this years event, we only have three remaining. Click Here to register.

Over $170,000 raised at Night of Magic VI

Oh what a night!

On 22nd September, we held our sixth Night of Magic at the Westin, Sydney. We are thrilled to announce that $171,364.00 was raised thanks to the generosity of over 480 guests in attendance.

The inspiration was felt throughout the room after hearing many heartfelt stories including 12 year old camper Jessica Giannaklis on the loss of her father, Feel the Magic® ambassador Betty Klimenko on her life journey and her experience at Camp Magic® and 2018 “The Voice” finalist, Brock Ashby shared his grief journey after losing his mother at the age of 12. Brock also spoke about how important it was having mentors in his life encouraging members of the audience to become a mentor at a Camp Magic® program.

Feel the Magic® founders, James and Kristy Thomas, shared their WHY behind starting Feel the Magic® and also spoke of their vision of the organisation and its 5-year plan.

We were also delighted to share with the room that Monica Saunders-Weinberg has accepted our invitation to become our founding Guardian Angel. Monica’s financial support and mentorship over the past 24 months, has been instrumental in helping us to expand. The positive impact of her generosity will be felt by the children who attend camp for years to come.

During our Heart Felt Pledges, James and Leila English pledged a phenomenal 187 ‘Talk Time Sessions’ equalling $30k on the night. This photo captured the magic of one of our campers Noah, expressing his gratitude to the amazing couple. This photo highlights the love and the connection that was in the room.

Thank you again to all our speakers and performers on the night, including camper Jessica Giannaklis, Feel the Magic® ambassador Betty Klimenko, 2018 “The Voice” finalists Brock Ashby and Luke Anthony and finally, MC and Feel the Magic® Ambassador, Michael Usher.

If you would like to be involved in creating next year’s stand out event, please contact Angela Maguire at [email protected] or 0414 20 77 55 who will be convening our Night of Magic VII event committee.

$38,000 Raised at 2018 Golf Day

On Friday 23rd March 2018, we held our annual Feel the Magic® Golf Day at the beautiful Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.

Hosted by special guest MC, Channel Nine’s James Bracey, a total of $38,000 was raised – making the day a great success!

This amount will fund a total of 38 individual grieving children to our 2018 April Camp Magic® program.

Like last year, the ‘weather gods’ were on our side, providing us with perfect golfing conditions, after a week of torrential rain.

Attendees were lucky enough to witness camp Mum, Danny Kinder, share her inspirational story of heartbreak and hear about her will to keep moving forward for her family and the legacy of her beautiful daughter Billie. You can read Danny’s story by clicking here.

Shane Bailey, our mentor extraordinaire, also shared his moving story on what life was like growing up as a bereaved child and how he gains so much by supporting grieving children as a mentor at Camp Magic®.

The day’s success would not have been possible without the support of our amazing event sponsors,

Gold- Griffin Air-Conditioning, Sure Search and Priority Advisory Group

Silver- Penrith Toyota, Drummond Golf Penrith, Supa Centa Moore Park and Wideline Windows and Doors.

Bronze- The Avenue Real Estate, Granite Transformations, Ubisoft, Mid-city Windows, EHI Hawkesbury, AWS Australia, Evolution Windows and Devotion.

Thank you to everyone else, who took part on the day, your contribution is also greatly appreciated.

Last but not least, a big CONGRATULATIONS, to the 2018 Feel the Magic® Golf Day Champions, Luke Oxley, Nathan Cruise, Jay Watson and Heath Parkin.

Well played everyone and we look forward to seeing you back in 2019.
